I have been dying to see this documentary since the day I heard about it. Almost 4 years just itching & impatiently waiting to see it. I fiiiiiiinally got to see it today and it was SO good! I didn’t know what to expect because of all the recent drama between Tribe & the director Michael Rapaport. I heard some people say true Tribe fans shouldn’t see it because it’s somewhat heartbreaking, which is partially true, but overall I still enjoyed it. The people in the theater with me were clapping along to the music and it was just a really good feeling to be surrounded by all these people that share the same love for Tribe that I do. I think that’s one of the best parts about going to see it in the theaters.
This documentary is one of those films that you wish would never end because it’s that enjoyable. I’m already obsessed with documentaries, but seeing one about my favorite group was even greater. I want to see it again & again. I’m really hoping that this will inspire more Hip-Hop documentaries because there’s so many stories that need to be shared. I’m sure I’m not the only one who would love to see some more documentaries like this one.
If you have yet to see this film, I recommend you go do so before it’s too late. You will not regret it, promise!
I give it five stars ★★★★★
